Another good question. I have heard Pete and Bruce say that those two engines are similar. Give one of those guys a call and they could answer that question.

Fernando

I'm on the other side of the world, could you just ask if the celect injector fits the 855 head and the pump bolts on inplace of the PT.
If they do then its a project if not then its no?

Many thanks
PS The N14 marine engine conversion was not something Cummins would want to be remembered by.....
Maybe putting 855 marine gear on an N14 is the way forward?
Is the 855 and the N14 exhaust manifold the same bolt pattern?
That might be plan B

Pete's feeling was no. The injectors will not fit. We have not tried this however so we cannot be certain. Pete tells me he knows the injectors use a different oring kit so its not likely to work

I Think there are a lot of factors for the retrofitting of the engine 855 Marine. The 855 series version's, camshafts, piston's. etc... and also the celect engine configuration is different from the old 855's. Can I ask where are you from?

celect-celect plus injectors wont fit 855,
as well as injector tubes being different
the whole geometery of valve gear, push rod
cam, cam box, rocker ratio deal wont work,
convert the celect to @ Marine engine,
use raw water after cooling off the stern,
or use 2033 CPL water jacket after cooler
then cool through stern pick up.

P.S. early N14 celect, phase 1 engine exhaust manifold
could fit, after that year no it wont.
